Compiled from ChatGPT project history (GPT Logs MCP, session "Paragon of the Horn," 2025-12-05) plus a HeroForge figurine the user supplied as visual reference in the same 2026-08-10 chat that prompted this doc. Every claim below is attributed to its source — verify against the original conversation before treating anything here as locked canon, same standard applied to the Bloodline provenance doc and The Rook's canon file. Several elements below are explicitly unresolved drafts, not decisions — see Open Threads.
Gift I — "Paragon of the Horn"
Current Canon Snapshot
Elevator hook: A child of the rebel bloodline, sworn to the Throne he was born to defy.
Gift I is a Luciferian Tiefling — an ancestor made a pact with Lucifer (pre-Fall or post-Fall undecided), and that bloodline marks every descendant with horns, luminous or shadow-tinged eyes, and a subtle pressure in the air when they're emotional. Unusually, he was raised passing as fully human; his Tiefling features didn't manifest until he was already an adult and already ordained a Paladin.

He is a Paladin of Elohim — "the One," the Source, the fountainhead of holiness. This is deliberate, not ironic: a child of the rebel star pledging himself to the Throne, framed as an act of reconciliation ("nothing born can be beyond the Light's reach"), not repentance for existing.
Politically, he's being groomed within the Church-militant hierarchy of the Papal State (a religious Empire — see Thaer) toward War-Papa: the wartime supreme commander the Papal State activates if it needs to go to war. He is close to that ascension when a battlefield catastrophe — and the doubt it produces — triggers his previously-dormant Tiefling bloodline, manifesting his horns publicly for the first time.

The Horn Sacrifice
His signature beat, in two acts:
- Horn One — The Parade Cut. Public, deliberate, performed in formation in front of the Church. Addressed to the institution, not to God: a statement that the Church no longer holds power over his standing before Elohim.
- Horn Two — The Jerusalem Cut. Private, at a temple in Jerusalem, alone. Addressed to God: an offering, not a rejection — declaring the agency to define what his bloodline means rather than disowning it.
He goes on to reach "Level 20 Paladin" in myth-terms: leading without needing validation, confronting evil without fear of resembling it, carrying both Light and Shadow without apology.

Visual reference
A HeroForge figurine titled "Gift I" — bald, heavily bearded, human-presenting man in ornate white-and-gold plate armor, a red heater shield trimmed in gold, a ram-horn/bone shoulder ornament (foreshadowing the latent tiefling features), and a large two-handed sword planted point-down. Consistent with the "reads as fully human until manifestation" design intent above.

Level 1 Ledger
Attributes: STR 15 · DEX 10 · CON 14 · INT 8 · WIS 12 · CHA 13 Vitality: 12 | Guard: 16 (scale mail and shield)
Vow of the Horn — his order's fighting discipline: fights defensively alongside a shield-bearing ally, trading a little offense for a lot of mutual protection.
The Throne's Mercy — a small pool of restorative grace (5 points at Level 1) he can spend by touch to close wounds, on himself or an ally. Refills on a long rest.
Tenets of Reconciliation — his order's actual oath, in place of a generic paladin's code: nothing born can be beyond the Light's reach; the institution does not define your standing before it; the horn belongs to you, not to those who fear it.
No spells yet — per the tradition his order draws from, that comes with rank, not raw devotion. Level 1 is discipline and grace, not incantation.

Working titles vs. confirmed name
- "Paragon of the Horn" — the order/archetype title for the Tiefling-paladin concept generally; confirmed IP-clean (Tiefling and Paladin are SRD/OGL-safe, the title itself is original coined language, no WotC/Hasbro conflict as long as no verbatim rules text or Forgotten Realms-specific IP is used).
- "War-Papa" — his political/military title within the Papal State, not a personal name.
- "Gift I" — his actual regnal/papal name, per the HeroForge figurine's title. This has not been located anywhere in the searchable GPT log text despite multiple targeted searches (including for "Pope Gift," Latin/Greek gift-root name candidates like Donatus/Theodore/Dorotheus, and broad full-corpus search). It may be from a session outside this archive, or simply wasn't captured well by semantic search. Treat as author-confirmed via the physical figurine regardless of the missing paper trail.
- "Tobiaus of Kmet" — a working alias explored for a hidden/exile-period identity (assigned name, "safe name," his old name reduced to rumor). Explicitly floated as one option among several, not locked.
Open Threads / Unresolved
- His birth name and Church-given name were mid-discussion, not finalized. The session was actively generating Hebrew-rooted birth-name candidates and Greek-form Church-name candidates when the recovered material cuts off.
- Setting timeline contradiction — this same session casually places D&D races in Thaer's history as early as 9600 BCE / settled by 200 BC, which conflicts with the separately-documented 1705 "Yawning" arrival event. See Thaer Open Threads — needs resolving before Gift I's backstory timeline is fixed.
- Protagonist arc axis not chosen. Three throughlines were proposed and left open:
- (A) Redemption but Not Self-Destruction — reclaiming narrative agency over the bloodline ("my bloodline bows to my choices").
- (B) The Heretic Who Was Right — Church politics as antagonist; he becomes a prophetic figure exposing institutional corruption/cowardice.
- (C) The Saint of the Broken Lineage — becomes a mythic hero for the outcast/cursed-blooded, rewriting cultural memory.
- Party composition — confirmed 2026-08-10, supersedes the two GPT-log-era rosters below. Six-member party, each pairing a fantasy race with a real-world culture (consistent with Thaer's post-Yawning premise of D&D races settling into specific human regions): a Russian Goblin, a Scandinavian Bugbear, an English Elf, Gift I himself (Levantine — Human-presenting, later Luciferian Tiefling), a French Human, and a Hindi/Sikh Dwarf. Names, classes, deities, and affiliations for the other five are not yet set.
- Superseded early version: Tiefling Paladin (him) + Gnome Warlock(?) + Human Cleric assigned to him.
- Superseded later revision: Tiefling Paladin + Tiefling Warlock + Halfling Artificer + Elvish Rogue, plus a found Goblin Cleric/Prophet and her little brother (a Goblin Ranger).
- "Thaer" was initially misremembered by the author as a deity name in the 2026-08-10 session that produced this doc — resolved to be the setting itself; the actual deity is Eloiheim. Noted here in case the confusion recurs.
